9 Reasons Why You Should Start a Home Business

Have you ever dreamed of quitting your job and starting
your own business, thereby becoming your own boss? Well, thanks to modern
technology, it's more doable now than it's ever been, as more and more
people are finding out. Yes, every new business venture involves some risks,
but those risks are often outweighed by the advantages.
Here are nine good reasons why you should start a home business:
1. You have far more control over your time.
With a home business, you can decide for yourself what your working hours
will be. If you only want to work when your kids are in school, have at it.
If you like to sleep in, you can start work later. If you need to do
something, you can give yourself the time off. As long as your work's
getting done, you can be flexible and work whenever you want.
2. You can work from anywhere you like.
A home business comes with the freedom to go or move anywhere you like
without having to ask permission, look for a new job, or miss a minute of
work. Modern technologies, such as laptops and high-speed Internet
connections, make it possible to be as mobile as you want to be. So, don't
like the cold? Head south for the winter. Don't like the heat? Head north
for the summer.
3. You don't have to commute to and from work.
Did you ever stop to think about all the time you waste sitting in traffic
or on some mode of mass transportation getting to and from work every day?
At an average of some twenty-four minutes each way, according to a recent
survey, it's the equivalent of five full work weeks every year. Time that
could much better be spent at home, building your own business instead of
someone else's.
4. You don't have to get dressed up to go to work.
Sick and tired of wearing high heels or a tie every day? Well, when you work
from home, you can wear whatever you darn well please... or nothing at all
if you like. :-)
5. You can save money.
By eliminating your commute, you'll save money on car expenses, if you
drive, or bus or train fares, if you use mass transportation. Since you
don't have a dress code at your home office, you can save money on clothes.
As an added extra, the day you start a home business, many of your personal
expenses immediately become tax-deductable business expenses, saving you
even more money come tax-time.
6. You can finally start eating better.
Most folks will tell you they'd really like to start eating better. However,
when you're being pressured at work and don't have time for lunch and/or
working long hours and don't have time to make dinner, it's a lot easier
said than done, isn't it? If you work at home, you're less likely to turn to
junk food as the answer and more likely to make healthier food choices.
7. You'll have far less stress.
When you work from home, you don't have a boss to contend with, office
politics to deal with, or drama kings or queens to upset you. Any stress you
do have will be self-imposed and thus, totally under your control.
8. You can get more done in less time.
Think of all the time you lose every single day at work in idle chit-chat
with co-workers, about such weighty topics as last night's game or who's
doing what with whom, and trivial interruptions and what you could
accomplish without those distractions and interruptions. Without them, you
could easily accomplish more working ten hours a week at home than you are
now working forty hours a week at the office.

Though the eight reasons above are eight of the best reasons there are for
starting a home business, the single best reason is the one that's most
important to you. It might be you can finally get paid what you're worth,
make more money, or spend more time with your family. Whatever's important
to you!
These are but a few of the many possible reasons why you should start a home
business. Whatever your reason is, keep it firmly in mind before, during,
and after making the transition from having a boss to being your own boss.
You can do it and knowing why you want to do it will propel you to success
and carry you over any obstacles that may arise in the process.
